AIGEL

The group AIGEL, consisting of performer and author of lyrics Aigel Gaisina and musician Ilya Barami, are considered supporters of the electronic hip-hop genre. Their creative tandem, created in 2017, from the very beginning aroused genuine interest in the public. The combination of experimental electronics with lyrics and virtuoso female recitative, non-banal performance of tracks, nervous pulsation of electronic beats - all this sounded unusual and intriguing. And could not fail to "shoot": the band became not just another popular duet, but a unique phenomenon in the world of music.

History of creation and composition of the duo

At the time of the formation of the collective, both of its members were well known in their circles. Ilya Baramiya, a musician from St. Petersburg, as a member of the groups "Christmas Tree Toys" and "SBHR", a sound engineer, a real legend and the "father" of the Russian electronic underground. Aigel Gaisina, born in Tatarstan, - as a poet, translator of poems from Tatar, singer, soloist of the quartet Tak Krasivo Temno, which she created together with her favorite man Temur Khadyrov.

In 2015, a man was convicted for fighting for 3 years, accusing him of trying to kill Aigel's ex-husband. Such a harsh and, in the opinion of many, unjustified sentence was a real shock for the girl. To somehow cope with it, Aigel plunged into poetry. Thus was born a collection of poems "Judgment". Having decided to create a radio play based on it, Gaisina found Ilya Baramiya in social networks and sent him her texts. They corresponded, and then the young people met in Moscow. The subsequent decision to form a band became the starting point in the creative biography of AIGEL.

Music of the band

Before finding their style and flow, the project participants recorded about 20 test tracks. But in the debut album "1190", which became the first significant result of the joint work of AIGEL, none of them was included. The basis of the disk was made up of songs that told the real story of a young man Aigel. The main hit was the track "Tatarin", which appeared already at the last moment. Music critics called the album "the darkest" of all imaginable, and the rap performed by the girl was judicial. Such a hip-hop, in their opinion, has not yet been.

Following the first record came a disk in minion format and the second full album. Working on them, the musicians tried to move away from the theme of hatred, to give the compositions a slightly different sound. This experiment attracted even more attention to the band's creative activity. Live performances on stage also contributed to the growth of popularity: having accumulated material, AIGEL were able to go on their first big tour in the spring of 2018.

AIGEL band at the present time

Both members of the band AIGEL now live in other countries. Ilya and his family went to Montenegro, Aigel and her daughter settled in Germany. Gaisina writes poetry and music and maintains a blog on social networks. Baramiya is engaged in educational programs for children, which allow them to master new technologies that simplify the creative process. At the same time, the band continues to give concerts, pleasing its fans in different European cities. To date, the composition of AIGEL remains unchanged, despite all the vicissitudes of life.

Interesting facts

1. The title for the debut album "1190" was not chosen by chance: that's how many days the girl's fiancé Temur Khadyrov had to serve in prison. He was released early, in 2017.
2. The duo's composition "Pyyala", sounding in the Tatar language, became a real sensation, and took the leading position in the world Shazam chart. Moreover, it was chosen as the main soundtrack of the TV series "Patsan's Word. Blood on the pavement." But, despite the fact that the song sounds repeatedly, in the credits of the movie the duo was not indicated.
3. A real dilemma for the girl was the ban on Muslim women to perform in public. For Aigel, on the contrary, it has always been uncomfortable to sing in front of her family.
