Event description

A Chamber Music Experience in Complete Darkness

Following its great success across Europe and the United States, Blind Symphony is coming to Austria for the very first time.

In this extraordinary concert format, visual perception is completely removed. Before the performance begins, every guest receives a special light-blocking eye mask, while the concert hall is immersed in complete darkness.

Once sight is taken away, all attention naturally turns to sound. The finest musical nuances, delicate vibrations and inner rhythms can be perceived with greater intensity and clarity. Even familiar works reveal a new, deeper and more powerful dimension under these extraordinary conditions.

The music is performed by a chamber ensemble and enriched by rare instruments representing distinctive cultural traditions from around the world.

Throughout the concert, you will experience more than 70 different sounds and timbres, many of them perhaps for the very first time.

The programme features works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Max Richter and Ludovico Einaudi.

Blind Symphony is far more than a concert. It is an invitation to experience music in all its depth, free from visual distractions.

When the light disappears, music becomes the only reality.
