Kazka band is a unique brainchild of Ukrainian show business. Experimental pop, electro-folk or indie-pop - it is difficult to define a single style in which they perform. The band members are so original that it is impossible not to notice them against the background of other performers. Original voice, multi-instrumentation, professional arrangement and direction, use of little-known Transcarpathian instruments - all together create an incredible ensemble. And even despite the principled position of the band members to sing exclusively in Ukrainian, they explode the world ratings and release one single after another.
Kazka" group consists of three members, each of whom brings a special note:
Alexandra Zaritskaya
Vocalist of the band. She was born on August 3, 1993 in Kiev in a family of lawyers. From early years she was willingly engaged in dancing, loved to sing, but never dreamed of being a singer. One incident changed everything: at a school festival in the 10th grade, overcoming fear, shyness and uncertainty, she performed a song by Shakira. The audience was delighted and gave her a standing ovation. And then young Sasha realized that singing is her calling. Nevertheless, she decided to go to law school.
During her student years, Alexandra worked part-time in karaoke bars and clubs. For some time she lived in Odessa, but then returned to the capital to thoroughly immerse herself in music. That's when she met Nikita, together with whom they created the band Kazka.
Nikita Budash
Not much is known about the biography of this member of the collective. He came from Kiev, graduated from the National Academy of Culture and Arts, became a professional sound engineer. For some time he worked and gained experience in the recording studio "Komora". Then he created his own. In 2011 he was a member of Dead Boys Girlfriend.
Dmytro Mazuryak
The performer who joined the collective last, in 2018. He had a passion for instruments since childhood. His first teacher was a village musician, then he graduated from the local music school, and entered the Kiev Pedagogical Institute (Faculty of Arts). His love for folk instruments grew into something more - today he has already mastered more than 50 of them. Most of them are unique and little-known Transcarpathian instruments, including the sopilka, trembita, dulcimer and others. As a student, he tried to earn a living by performing in underground passages. At the same time, he periodically gave lectures on instruments. At one of them he met Alexandra and Nikita, who at that time had already formed a band.
Almost nothing is known about the personal lives of the participants. They always guffaw and do not admit whether they have second halves. And we note that they do it quite gracefully. The composition of the band has not changed for two years.
The way to the creation of the Kazk that we know
Vocalist Aleksandra Zaritskaya's first serious achievement was participation in the TV project "The Voice of Ukraine". This life stage taught her a lot of things, opened the way to development, inspired confidence in her abilities.
In 4 months after the creation of the collective in 2017, Alexandra and Nikita launched their first hit "Svyata". And he immediately blew up all radio stations. And after Sergei Tkachenko directed and helped to shoot the music video, the group "Kazka" instantly "flew" on all TV channels and headed almost all ratings.
The next important stage was the participation of the already formed group in the TV project "X-Factor". They successfully passed all the castings and got into the team of the talented Andrei Danilka. They lasted five airings, showed all their strengths, won the hearts of many fans. But unfortunately, they did not win.
Immediately after leaving the project, the team presented a new song "Diva". Success did not take long to wait. Already on the day of premiere, this single soared to the first position in the top chart of iTunes.
Two years in a row (2018 and 2019) the group "Kazka" participated in the national selections for Eurovision. At the first one they took 6th place, at the second one - 3rd place. But despite this, due to the scandal that broke out at the selection, the band was offered to represent their country at the international contest. Having made a joint decision, they refused.
The history of Kazka's formation is quite complicated. Luck was not so smiling to them, as they wanted. But all the difficulties and unpleasant moments they were able to overcome. Nothing can affect their creative development, because enthusiasm, energy and desire to create a quality Ukrainian product are above it.
Achievements and awards
To date, the music group has existed for more than two years. For such a short period of time, no Ukrainian performer has ever managed to achieve such victories.
Getting to the top of iTunes was the first, but not the only achievement of the group. According to Karabas Live magazine and Kraїna FM radio station the band was recognized as "The Best Debut of the Year". The song "Svyata" was named "The Best Pop Group Song". The composition "Crying" received the statuette "Hit of the Year", and the band itself was repeatedly awarded the title "Breakthrough of the Year". This list should also include the awards:

- "Zolota zhyr-bird" - "New Names", "Breakthrough of the Year", "Hit of the Year", "Clip of the Year", "Pop Group";

The popularity of "Kazki" is largely due to the YouTube channel: a record number of views, likes, allowed to enter the "Top 100 best clips on YouTube".
The highest achievement was the group's entry into one of the most prestigious world charts Top 10 Global Shazam. Before that, none of the Ukrainian performers had ever been recorded there.
World fame came after the release of the song "Crying". It was a real explosion: millions of views, first places in the ratings not only in the native country, but also in the near and far abroad, participation in several categories of the most prestigious world charts at once!
