"The Sun Line": A therapeutic comedy in one act

“The Sunline” is a tense dialogue between two people about true intimacy—sparkling, and ironic—that reveals the various mechanisms which, since the dawn of time, have prevented men and women from truly seeing and hearing one another.

The roles of the married couple are played by popular actors, entertainers, and cast members of the top female comedy show COMEDY WOMAN—the beloved Natalya Eprikyan and Alexander Gudkov

The play’s director, a six-time winner of the “Golden Mask” Award, is Roman Feodori.
The play was written by Ivan Vyrypaev.

A husband and wife find themselves trapped in their own home until morning, trying to find a way out of their marital crisis. They lost touch with each other long ago, and only a sincere conversation—in which their usual roles and notions of family life are turned on their heads—can give their relationship new momentum and help them cross the “sunline” that symbolically divides the space between them. Ultimately, the play moves from a simple family theme to a discussion of today’s most pressing issue—the problem of communication among living beings on this planet. Vyripaev’s texts are memorable for the rhythm of their monologues and dialogues, self-deprecating humor, and at the same time, harsh, tragic plot twists—just like in real life, where people experience fear, bitterness, joy, and laughter.
