"Neschastnyy Sluchay" (Neschastnyy Sluchay) is a group that has imprinted itself in the Russian pop scene with a bright spot. They are not just performers, but a theatrical and musical collective, which staged several famous performances, recorded innumerable hits, implemented many successful humorous TV projects, gave thousands of grandiose concerts not only in Russia, but also abroad. They performed at all kinds of venues, gathered crowded stadiums, were awarded the most prestigious musical and theatrical awards.
The period of the band's formation
The 80s were marked by the arrival of foreign music on the Soviet expanse. Many talented guys organized collectives, trying to imitate this or that foreign star. Moscow State University became the "main forge" of such personnel. It was here in 1983 that the history of the group "Neschastny Chance" began.
Alexei Kortnev and Valdis Pelsh passed the selection in the creative studio of the university. They sang their joint composition "Chasing the buffalo". Having won first place, they began to perform in the student theater, performing musical numbers. A little later they were joined by Pavel Mordyukov, Sergei Chekryzhov, Vadim Sorokin. Being already a full-fledged team, they continued to storm the concert venues of the capital.
After several successful performances in performances they were invited on a large tour to America and Europe as part of an experimental cabaret "Blue Nights of the Cheka". Having gained a lot of experience, they returned to Russia and took two more musicians to their team - Andrei Guvakov and Dmitry Morozov.
The collective thought over the concept of their work for a long time. Original manner of performance, bright stage images and songs in the genres of jazz-fusion, indie-pop, art-rock and satire - the Russian audience has not seen this before. This was the reason for the great interest of the public, which later turned into a huge national love.
Musical and theatrical career
"Casualty" first appeared on the screen in 1988, when the collective performed as part of the MSU team in KVN. Then the guys realized that they should pay attention to television. A year later they "shone" in the program "The View", shot two videos for the songs "Radio" and "Leave Me".
They were immediately invited to work on ATV. There they helped organize shows, wrote musical accompaniment, were engaged in directing and even advertising business. Some ran their own projects. And they often performed their compositions. It was at that time that they had the idea to record the first full album. The collective actively began to work.
Preparation for the presentation lasted about 5 years. All this time they painstakingly worked on each song, experimented with the arrangement, lyrics, instruments. And finally in 1994 they presented their debut album "Trody pludov" to the listeners. Most of the songs instantly became hits and filled the top lines of hit parades. The record elicited rave reviews from critics. Some even called it the best work for the entire existence of the collective.
The group "Neschastny Chance" enthusiastically embarked on the creation of the next record. And approached this task very creatively. It was decided to record a radio concert with the addition of announcer preambles. For this purpose about 50 singers, musicians and even an orchestra were involved. The result was sensational - Mein Lieber Tanz was a success. It brought "NS" to the ranks of the best representatives of the national variety.
And then there were endless concerts, recording new compositions, staging performances, organizing show programs, shooting video clips. Not a minute for private life! In 1997 there was a change of the line-up, which upset the fans. One of the founders and leaders Valdis Pelsh left the band. A year later the drummer's place was taken by Pavel Cheremisin. Guvakov and Mordyukov united and created a new label Delicatessen.
In 1998 "Neschastny Chasid" celebrated its 15th anniversary. A grandiose concert was given in the crowded hall of Moscow State University. A year later, the members founded their own recording studio called "House of Composers".
With the advent of the 2000s.
The third album "Prunes and apricots" could not repeat the previous success. Then the musicians made a small break in the creative biography. There were rumors that they even planned to disband the project "NS". But several successful concerts inspired. The group continued its creative activity, but in a slightly different way: the musicians of "Neschastny Chasnost" plunged headlong into the theater art.
Cooperation with the satirical theater "Quartet I" radically changed the course of their career. In 2001 they helped in the preparation of the play "Radio Day". For the production they recorded more than ten songs in a variety of genres. Two years later, with their participation came another play - "Election Day", which also sounded the songs of "NS". These theatrical works came to the public's liking. And in 2007-2008 both pictures were screened.
The general interest to "Accident" died down a bit. The album "Simple Numbers" did not bring great commercial success. Then followed 4 years of work on a new record. It was presented only in 2008. In the same year the 25th anniversary was celebrated with three grandiose concerts in the capital.
The last decade the band continues to write songs and replenish its discography with new works. It does not perform in public as often as many fans would like. Going on stage, "NS" charges every audience with positivity and drive, just like thirty years ago. The collective also continues to take an active part in the theatrical life: in 2019 a musical performance "In the city of Lzhedmitrov" was created. In the current composition remained permanent soloist Alexei Kortnev, vocalist and saxophonist Pavel Mordyukov, vocalist and keyboardist Sergei Chekryzhov, vocalist and guitarist Dmitry Chuvlev, bassist Roman Mamaev, drummer Pavel Timofeev.
