Nervy is a Ukrainian pop-rock band, founded in 2010, which continues to please its fans nowadays. During its existence the band had to go through moments of success and failures, change of line-up and suspension of activity, to be on the verge of disintegration and to start a new stage in its life. And the main thing is to raise a generation of listeners who are not indifferent to rock in modern sound and to the fate of live music in general.
Leader, driving force and ideological inspirer Evgeny Milkovsky: biography details
The rock band "Nerves" owes its birth to its ideological inspirer, permanent leader, vocalist Evgeny Milkovsky.
The future frontman was born in 1991 in Pokrovsk. He was interested in music since childhood, learned to play the piano well, tried to write poems for songs. At the age of 9, the boy managed to pass a tough selection in the choir of the music school. After Zhenya turned 14, he was given a guitar, of which he dreamed so much. The boy began to create his own compositions. This and predetermined the further fate of the young talent.
Immediately after graduating from school, Eugene participated in the 1st season of the TV project "Factory of Stars", where he acquired the necessary connections, gained fans and experience in show business. To win in the project Milkovsky failed because of disagreements with producers. But Eugene this did not stop.
The guy entered the Institute of Culture in Kiev and continued to engage in creativity with redoubled energy. The result of the artist's efforts were several musical compositions and clips to them, as well as his album, released in 2010. But further solo career Milkovsky did not work out, and Eugene, who believes that listeners are more interested in the work of groups, decided to create a musical group. And he was not mistaken.
The history of creation and "nervous" composition
Casting was announced in the social network "VKontakte". At the audition came quite a few musicians, but the collective took:
- Vladislav Zaichenko (backing vocalist);
- Anton (Toshik) Nizhenko (drummer);
- Dmitry Dudka (bass-guitarist);
Evgeny Milkovsky became the frontman of the band.
In this line-up the guys released their first songs: "Silly", "Batteries", "Coffee is My Friend", "Ravens", "Radio Wave". They became absolute hits, and the videos for them made the rock band really popular. The musicians traveled around the CIS countries with concerts. Their tracks topped the charts, came from all radio receivers, were discussed by fans, experts and critics.
Kruzheva Music center, founded by producer Yuri Bardash, was producing the musicians at that time. It was to him a significant part of the income, the performers themselves were left with very little. But their creative career developed rapidly. Under the aegis of "lace" singles of the group "Nervy" were used in such popular TV series as "Fizruk", "Closed School", "Youth", "Angel or Demon". The guys released 3 albums, rolled out 2 big tours and were even nominated for prestigious awards.
A turning point in the history of the rock band "Nervy" began in 2014. First Dmitry Dudka left the band, and after that the artists announced the breakup of relations with Kruzheva Music. Their clips were removed from the official pages, performances had to be temporarily canceled. The rights to the former name remained with the "lace". To get them back, the guys had to make a lot of effort.
Musicians needed support. The proposal of the famous rapper Basta to cooperate with his label Gazgolder came in very handy, preventing the group from breaking up. Milkovsky and his team moved to Moscow. The expected breakthrough did not happen. The ideas put forward by the group "Nervy", did not find much response from the owners of the label. In addition, in 2016, two members left the collective at once: Nizhenko and Zaichenko. Anton wanted to get rid of the wimpy image imposed on the group, and he went to Skriptonit. Vladislav followed him for company. With Milkovsky remained only Roman Bulakhov, who came to the team quite recently.
In musical circles began to talk that the group "Nerves" broke up finally. But Milkovsky did not want to part with his brainchild. To find new members, he again used the social network VK. From the many responded chose guitarist Evgeny Trukhin and drummer Alexey Bochkarev. Surprising fact: musicians knew each other well before, but on casting from St. Petersburg came, without conspiring, in different cars.
Under Basta's wing, the guys worked for about two years, then gathered their own production team and left the label. In December 2017, Trukhin also went to Skriptonit. And only 2 years later, bassist Dmitry Klochkov joined the team. The new collective was formed definitively. In such a composition, the group "Nervy performs and today.
The main genres of music of the group "Nervy"
Experts and fans of the collective do not get tired of arguing about what genre the music of the guys should be attributed to. Some are of the opinion that it is alt-rock. Others prefer to consider this subgenre as pop-punk or grunge. The third catch the direction of pop-rock in the work of "Nervy", in which the Beatles performed at the dawn of their career.
In fact, everyone is right: the songs of the band are absolutely multidirectional. And therein lies one of the secrets of its enduring popularity. Everyone who loves rock, finds something different in the work of the guys. "Nerves" these days
The last disk that the rock band presented to the court of music lovers in 2021, was the studio album "7". It included 21 compositions. One of them, called "Red Card", the artists performed in an unusual for themselves genre of rapcore.
After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the members of the group "Nervy" curtailed their activities in Russia and left the country. They called their actions a forced measure, dictated by their unwillingness to have anything in common with the country that kills their relatives and close people.
Where is the group "Nervy" now? Wishing not to stay away from the events taking place in Ukraine, the musicians are actively performing concerts throughout Europe. Sharp and emotional statements of the leader of the group "Nervy" about the war are supported by all members of the collective. And not only in words, but also in deeds. Part of the proceeds from the concerts, the musicians transfer to humanitarian needs and to help the army of Ukraine. They very much hope for a soon meeting in a peaceful environment and believe that such a day will definitely come.
