Metropol Theater Bremen

The METROPOL THEATER BREMEN, located in the heart of the city, is one of the most modern theaters in Germany and plays an important role beyond the region. At the end of the 1990s, this theater was built on the site of the former central swimming pool, initially under the name Musical Theater Bremen. After a three-year planning and construction phase, the grand opening took place in 1999 with the premiere of the musical "Jekyll & Hyde".

The light-flooded foyer extends over three floors and offers spacious bar and restaurant areas to get guests in the mood for a special evening. The elegant auditorium is shaped like an amphitheater and has 1,450 comfortable seats that guarantee an optimal view of the stage.

With a 24-metre-high stage tower and state-of-the-art stage technology, the theater is also able to present elaborate productions.

In 2017, the name was changed to METROPOL THEATER BREMEN to make it clear that not only musicals are performed here, but that the theater also serves as a meeting place for the city of Bremen and the surrounding metropolitan region.

For many years, the theater has been captivating audiences with its varied program in different genres. It has hosted numerous well-known events, including "Dirty Dancing", "West Side Story" and "I've Never Been to New York", as well as concerts with artists such as Kool & The Gang and Anastacia, often in collaboration with the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra.
