Lokschuppen Bielefeld

The historic Bielefeld railroad depot, built between 1905 and 1907, exemplifies the charm of industrial architecture. Originally, the engine shed housed nine tracks and various administrative and accommodation buildings for engine drivers. It was extended in 1923 to meet the growing demand. However, the Second World War left serious damage in its wake; the building was only rebuilt in the 1950s.

In the 1970s, diesel locomotives moved in, which required special fire protection measures. In 1985, Deutsche Bahn ceased operations at the plant and withdrew almost completely. After that, the building became increasingly dilapidated.

In 2002, real estate agent Saxe and architect Krause acquired the site. In close cooperation with the monument protection authorities, they renovated the almost completely dilapidated building and opened it as the "Ringlokschuppen" event center on 31 October 2003.

Another milestone followed in 2018, when Lokschuppen Event GmbH took over following the insolvency of the previous operator. Under new management and with a comprehensive renovation concept, the building shone in new splendor in September 2018. Historical elements were combined with modern technology to revive the "Ringlokschuppen" as a multifunctional and barrier-free event venue.
