Mitya Fomin is a famous Russian singer, a member of the popular Hi-Fi collective and then a solo performer. In addition to music, he is also an excellent dancer, plays in the cinema and on the theater stage, gladly takes part in various TV projects. An important part of his life, in addition to creativity, is charity, support for orphanages and popularization of donation.
Childhood and early years
Dmitry Anatolievich was born on January 17, 1974 in Novosibirsk. His parents can safely be called bright representatives of the intelligentsia of that time: his father was an associate professor and teacher at the Institute of Communications, his mother was a patent engineer. Mitya's sister from an early age was fond of music, studied at the Milan Conservatory, now plays in an ensemble of ancient music.
At school, the boy often showed his rebellious character - got involved in conflicts with classmates, argued with teachers. This behavior was the reason for his transfer from the choral department to accompaniment in the music school. But at the same time, Dmitry's childhood can safely be called carefree: he had a lot of books, toys, as well as pets. Love for animals led the boy to the dream of becoming a veterinarian. But since this profession was not prestigious and in demand in Soviet times, his parents persuaded him to make a choice in favor of medicine.
The young man entered the Novosibirsk Medical Institute. Although even then he knew that his true calling was music. He had been raving about the stage since high school, listening to modern pop singers and collecting vinyl records.
A busy student life
Having entered the first year of the pediatric department, Mitya began to attend the theater university. Being a simple free listener, he absorbed all the delights of creative activity.
In the third year he received a proposal that turned his consciousness. Friends called Dmitry with them to England. He took a sabbatical leave and went to explore foreign countries. After a few months in Britain, he moved to the United States. The young man grabbed any job, learned a foreign language, absorbed other cultures. It was there that Fomin discovered the world of musical theater. Inspired by that atmosphere, he began to engage in creative work. Being thousands of kilometers away from his native home, he realized what his true purpose was. After returning to his homeland, the young man firmly decided to change the sphere of activity.
Being still a medical student, Mitya conducted an experiment: he went to the capital to try his hand at theater. It all ended with the fact that he passed the entrance rounds to GITIS, VGIK, Shchepkin College and the Moscow Art Theater Studio. But the guy did not give up his medical education. He successfully completed his studies, passed his exams and received a doctor's diploma.
And only then Dmitry finally made the first step to the realization of his dream - entered the theater. The choice fell on VGIK. There he studied at the course of Joseph Raikhelgauz and from the first day began to show great promise. But he was not destined to graduate - fate had other views on him. Having met friends from his native Novosibirsk, Mitya received an offer he could not refuse. Composer Pavel Esenin and producer Eric Chanturia were looking for a frontman for their new project and invited Fomin to take the position. Not thinking long, the guy agreed and signed a contract on cooperation for 10 years. Documents from the institute had to be taken away. But a couple of months later, a new star was lit on the Russian stage - a project called Hi-Fi with lead singer Mitya Fomin.
Musical career
The first composition, which instantly brought the group popularity, was the song "Don't". Since that day Mitya and other members of the group - Timofei Pronkin and Oksana Oleshko - have become one of the most sought-after entertainers. During the ten years of the musical project, they recorded three albums, filmed about 12 videos and toured almost continuously.
The group Hi-Fi had a whole army of fans of different ages. But few people knew that the vocals, which everyone hears and loves, do not belong to Fomin at all. From the first day of the band's existence and up to the last song, the vocal parts were performed by the author of the lyrics Pavel Esenin. Mitya was the frontman, gave interviews and autographs, bathed in the rays of fame, performed at concerts under a phonogram, but did not sing. And although the composer repeatedly admitted that Fomin had good vocal data, they did not fit into the vision of his concept. Therefore, at the end of the contract, the leader of the group immediately embarked on a solo career. By that time he already had a lot of ideas and developments, which were just waiting for presentation.
In 2009, Mitya Fomin began to cooperate with the famous producer Max Fadeev. Under his guidance appears the debut solo song "Two lands". The clip for it immediately gets to the "top" of the MTV channel. Six months later he leaves Fadeev and begins to independently promote his work. And does it very successfully.
In the following years, Dmitry completed the discography of four solo albums, regularly setting the tone in popular music. His songs "Everything will be fine", "Big City Lights", "That's how I love you", "Alien Dreams" and others for a long time occupied the top positions of the hit parades and were awarded many awards.
In parallel, Fomin actively participates in various TV projects and shows, performs at concerts and festivals, leads his own music chart. As an ambassador of the Life Line charity fund, he often takes part in charity events and helps financially. In 2017, the singer's dream came true - he played on the big stage of the MSCHT in the play "Fanny's Family".
In 2018, the former participants of Hi-Fi together went on the same stage, where they performed old hits. The musicians also reported on the preparation for the release of a new album. Today they are in the golden lineup touring and giving a lot of concerts.
At the same time, the artist is actively working on the development of his own musical career. About the personal life of the singer practically nothing is known.
