"Dinner with a Fool" is a brilliant situation comedy in which laughter is juxtaposed with irony, and deep themes are hidden behind the apparent lightness.
Every week, a group of arrogant intellectuals have dinner... with fools. Each brings along the most ridiculous guest they think they can find - for the sake of hilarious mockery.
Only this "fool" turns out to be not so simple. Instead of becoming an object of ridicule, Pignon begins to ruin Brochant's life. Due to a series of ridiculous accidents, the evening turns into a disaster, and the smug intellectual from hunter to victim of his own plan.
Full of witty dialog and satire, Weber's play mocks snobbery and shows that true stupidity is arrogance.
For more than thirty years, this play has been successfully performed on the world's leading theater stages.
