Edita Piekha

Edyta Piecha is a legendary Soviet and Russian singer, called the Russian Edith Piaf, actress, People's Artist of the USSR. Year of birth - 1937.

Childhood of the singer

Edith-Marie was born in a small French mining town. Her parents - Poles by nationality - moved here, trying to find work. Her father, suffering from a common disease among miners, was gone when Edith was 4 years old. Soon the girl's older brother died as well, trying to replace the head of the family somehow.

Edita's mother, left with a little daughter in her arms, remarried. After a while, the couple had a boy, who was named Jozef. At the end of the war, the family of the future singer returned to Poland. The girl continued her studies at school, began to improve the Polish language (at that time, "Frenchwoman" knew it very mediocre). In her free time, she enjoyed singing in the school choir. But at that time Edyta did not think about her career as an artist at all - she dreamed of becoming a teacher.

She became famous in one day

Having brilliantly graduated from the pedagogical school, the girl received the right to continue her studies in the USSR. Due to the lack of enrollment in the faculty of psychology, she did not get into the pedagogical institute, so she entered the Leningrad University. Very homesick and feeling incredibly lonely, Edita enrolled in a choir. Singing there became not only an outlet for her, but also the beginning of her creative biography. A talented girl with a great voice and unusual pronunciation was noticed by Alexander Bronevitsky and invited her to join the student ensemble, the head of which he was then.

The first song that Edita performed on the big stage during the New Year's concert in 1956 was a joke song "Red Bus". Despite the unfamiliar language, the audience liked the composition very much. Quite unexpectedly, her performance brought the girl great success. After the song was recorded on a record, it instantly spread throughout Leningrad, the whole city started talking about the young singer.

In the same year, Edita Pieha became a soloist of the collective "Friendship". But the artist herself counts down her career since 1957: it was then that her name first appeared on the posters. Together with the group, the singer traveled halfway around the world, performed not only in Europe, but also in Central America. The composition of the ensemble was constantly changing, only Edita Pieha's participation in it remained unchanged.

But in 1976 the singer decided to leave "Friendship". She created her own ensemble, opening a new page in her career.

Legend of the domestic variety

Over the years of creative activity, the singer collaborated with many famous composers, recorded more than 20 disks. In the golden fund of the domestic variety got dozens of compositions, among them:

During the performances, Edita Piekha proposed many innovations, which were later used by other performers. She was the first to remove the microphone fixed on the stand and began to sing, moving with it on stage. The singer began to communicate with the audience, trying to achieve complete unity with those present in the hall. She was also the first to decide to celebrate outstanding dates in her life and creative work on stage.

Over the years, the artist visited with concerts in many cities of Russia, CIS countries, Europe, and everywhere she was welcomed with great warmth. In recent years, Edita Stanislavovna has retired from active touring. She spends most of her time in her country house near St. Petersburg. Not so long ago in the life of Edita Piekha two remarkable events occurred: the legendary singer became twice a great-grandmother. In the family of the artist's grandson, Stas, who bears the surname of the famous grandmother, a son was born, and granddaughter Erika - a daughter.
