Aleph Theater. Why is there no heaven on earth 21 September 2023

For the first time in Germany! The Israeli theater "Alef" (HAIFA) brings the play "Why there is no heaven on earth" based on the story of the same name by Ephraim Sevela!

The play about pre-war childhood and the fate of Jews in the 20th century was created in the best traditions of the St. Petersburg school and combines drama theater and puppet theater.

The role of the narrator in the play was voiced by the famous actor Veniamin Smekhov, who performed iconic roles such as the role of Athos in the film "The Three Musketeers” and Woland in the play "Taganka Theater”.

The performance uses historical newsreels.

The main character of the play is Maria, a friend of Berele Mats, the main character of Ephraim Sevela’s story "Why there is no heaven on earth.” It is Maria who will tell the story of her childhood, which took place in the 30s and ended with the outbreak of the war.

This story will remind you of how important it is to maintain kindness and joy even in the most difficult circumstances.

One actress and 25 dolls will tell you about it.

"Why Is There No Heaven on Earth” has already won the hearts of Israeli audiences, and has been repeatedly awarded at international theater festivals.

The performance is intended for adults and children over 12 years old.
