Svetlana Pornyanskaya was born in Moscow and moved to the USA in 1991. She is a cantor in a synagogue in Los Angeles and a singer with a voice that penetrates to the heart0.

Unforgettable and diverse, different and at the same time the same and recognisable, who cannot be confused with anyone else.

Her programme is very varied. It consists of ancient cantorial music, hidden for centuries in the walls of synagogues, but outstanding in its musical structure and melody, masterpieces of world variety and classics.

In addition to her concert activities and work as a cantor in a Los Angeles synagogue, Svetlana is also a film producer. In particular, she worked on the documentary film "TERESIEN: THE CODE OF LIFE" about the Theresienstadt concentration camp and is the producer of this film, which also features her songs. The film won awards at international film festivals in Houston and Montreal.

Isn't this a good example of the huge range of diversity of creativity and at the same time dedication to her role! Whether in film or music, Svetlana Portnyanskaya is an outstanding Jewish performer and a woman of her people.

Boris Rosenthal is a multi-instrumentalist and conductor, a welcome guest at all concert venues throughout Germany. On 7 December 2023, Boris Rosenthal performs at the Brandenburg Gate at the lighting of the 1st Hanukkah candle of the giant Hanukkiah in the presence of Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the head of the Big Band Rosenthal & Friends he founded.
