Meeting with film historian Naum Kleiman in Berlin 21 April 2024

Naum Kleiman is a film scholar, film historian, member of the European Film Academy, founder and longtime director of the Cinema Museum, and a major expert on the work of S. M. Eisenstein.

Alexander Smolyansky will talk to the guest about little-known episodes of the history of Soviet cinema.

Eisenstein's film "Bezhin Meadow" (30 min.), destroyed by Stalin's order, and the film "Unknown Ivan the Terrible" (30 min.) - scenes not included in two series, M.I. Romm's audition for the role of Queen Elizabeth and a scene from the unrealized 3rd series of "Ivan the Terrible".
