Event description

The concert "Classical and Contemporary: Between Yesterday and Tomorrow" offers a fascinating musical journey with mezzo-soprano Yana Mann and cellist Arseniy Chubachin. The two artists build a unique bridge between classical heritage and modern exploration. In the program "Between Yesterday and Tomorrow", they combine their talents in a concert that traverses different eras - from the elegance of the Romantic period to the sonic experiments of the 21st century.

The first part of the evening is firmly rooted in the Romantic tradition. The audience can expect timeless works by Schubert, Brahms, Grieg and Mendelssohn - including Schubert's famous "Ave Maria" and Mendelssohn's delicate miniature "Lied ohne Worte". Rachmaninoff's emotional "Vocalise" enriches the program, as do Debussy's impressionistic "Beau Soir" and Gershwin's iconic "Summertime", which combines European sophistication with American sensuality.

The second part features contemporary music by Grammy-nominated composer David T. Little, one of the most distinctive voices of our time. His works such as "Archaeology" and excerpts from the opera "JFK" form the emotional center of the program and explore themes such as memory, silence and inner tensions through innovative vocal experiments. The portrait of Jacqueline Kennedy in "JFK" is both intimate and mythical - the image of a woman suspended between history and grief.

Arseniy Chubachin
winner of the III International Berlin Competition, lends his playing deep emotionality and technical virtuosity, so that each work shines with new vitality and presence.

Yana Mann
is a versatile artist who seamlessly combines classical opera tradition with modern musical influences. She combines timeless elegance with contemporary creativity. Her career highlights include her acclaimed debut at Carnegie Hall in 2022 and a performance at the top of the Eiffel Tower in 2023.

Pianist Nadezda Pisareva, winner of international competitions and a graduate of the Berlin University of the Arts, will also take part in the concert.
