This performance is an encounter between two characters who were forced to leave their homeland. On the cusp of memories and a new beginning, a dialogue unfolds about loss, hope, and identity.
Classic chansons and political satires of the 1920s—featuring lyrics and songs by Hans Eisler, Kurt Tucholsky, Friedrich Hallender, and Erich Kästner—intertwine with the pressing issues of our time: war, flight, and a new beginning.
A grotesque past collides with the wounds of the present.
Thus is born a production that combines pain and humor, history and contemporary relevance, music and theater.
