Event description

Klezmer clarinettist Ilya Gindin and virtuoso classical guitarist Dimitri Illarionov invite you to immerse yourself in the rich diversity of Jewish music. In this program, the musicians bring together works by Jewish composers from different eras - from the Middle Ages to the present day. You will hear sonatas by Salomone Rossi and Felix Mendelssohn as well as pieces by Jacob Weinberg and Grzegorz Fitelberg, which were written at the beginning of the 20th century and are inspired by Jewish folk music.

There will also be excerpts from Alexander Tsfasman's Jazz Suite and works by George Gershwin. The concert will conclude with a tribute to Giora Feidman by Béla Kovács and Hasidic nigunim in the musicians' own interpretation.

Before the concert begins, there will be a vernissage by Berlin artists presenting works on Jewish themes. All guests will receive a glass of wine as a welcome drink.
