Event description

Deep Purple has had a decisive influence on the music world since the late 1960s and is regarded as a pioneer of modern heavy metal. The band was founded on the initiative of London businessmen John Coletta and Tony Edwards by organist Jon Lord and debuted in 1968. With members such as Rod Evans, Nick Simper, Ian Paice and Ritchie Blackmore, the group was characterised by a mixture of rock and classical music, with their debut album "Shades Of Deep Purple" already laying the foundations for their characteristic sound.

After a successful start with hits such as "Hush", numerous albums and line-up changes followed, taking the band through highs and lows. The international breakthrough came with "Deep Purple In Rock" and songs like "Child In Time". Despite internal conflicts and the associated frequent member changes, the band's success remained constant. A remarkable reunion took place in 1984, which led to further legendary albums and tours.

Deep Purple, known as one of the "loudest bands in the world", has received countless awards over the years, including over 60 gold records and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. With albums such as "Whoosh" and "Turning To Crime" and energetic live shows, the band remains a staple of the rock music scene, backed by members such as Ian Gillian, Steve Morse, Roger Glover, Ian Paice and Don Airey.

2024 the band is going to Germany with a new tour - 1 More Time Tour. Order your Deep Purple tickets now.
