Monetochka (real name Elizaveta Girdymova) is a Russian singer, musician, composer and songwriter. Her creative path to success began with the publication of tracks of her own composition on VKontakte, which she performed to the accompaniment of a synthesizer. Filled with irony, the lyrics quickly went viral, turning an ordinary schoolgirl into a network star. In a few years, the girl managed to build a successful career. Today Lisa Monetochka is a serious performer who has won the hearts of millions of listeners in Russia and abroad. Her genre can be characterized as pop-rock or antifolk.

From an ordinary schoolgirl to an Internet sensation

Liza Girdymova was born on June 1, 1998 in Yekaterinburg. The girl was fond of writing poetry since childhood. As she grew older, she began to post them on websites and social networks. Topics for creativity future celebrity chose very serious - unrequited love, war.

Until the 9th grade Lisa was engaged in school, where special attention was paid to the study of music and diction. There she learned to play the piano, began to study ballet.

At the age of 15 Lisa moved to a specialized educational and research center, whose teachers tried to reveal the abilities of each child. And this approach yielded results. During her studies, the girl began to write songs and put them on her page in social networks under the pseudonym Monetochka.

Girdymova explains the choice of stage name as follows. Registering in the social network, she introduced herself as Elizaveta Moneta. The rhyme seemed to her very successful. The pseudonym Monetochka appeared a little later, somehow by itself.

The turning point in the creative biography of the artist was the day when she posted "VKontakte" a whole collection of 7 songs. A few hours later, the girl found under her publication a lot of reposts and dozens of comments from subscribers. The reaction of the public was ambiguous - from praise to criticism and outright negativity. Nevertheless, she managed to attract attention to herself. The public was bribed by the fact that despite the angelic appearance and delicate voice of the singer, the topics in her songs were not childish at all - the problems of modern teenagers, the situation in Ukraine.

To Monetochka's surprise, her creativity aroused interest not only among young people. Her tracks were appreciated by her idol - the famous rapper Noize MC. Sergey Shnurov, Zemfira and other celebrities also expressed their opinion.

Deciding not to stop at what has been achieved, Lisa continued to write. In early 2016, she posted "VKontakte" her debut album "Psychedelic Cloud Rap". It was based on previously published songs. The release of the album did not go unnoticed. Journalists called Monetochka's songs simple, but caustic, incredibly accurate reflection of reality. The performer herself was dubbed a true Internet sensation.

Creative path

After graduating from school, Lisa moved to Moscow and went to study at VGIK. In 2017, the singer's second album called "I am Lisa" was released. It combined 6 tracks in the style of pop-rock with elements of electronic music.

In the same year, Monetochka began to cooperate with the famous musician Viktor Isaev, who wrote arrangements for her songs. Their first collaboration was the single "The Last Disco". Its appearance marked the singer's final departure from songs under the piano to professional sound.

In 2018, Monetochka released her debut studio album "Coloring books for adults". It included such songs as:

• "Nymphomaniac";
• "Russian Ark";
• "Every Time."

The album became a big breakthrough in the creative biography of the singer. It took the first positions in the venerable charts, it was much written about in the press. The public and critics noted the increased quality of the compositions included in the album.

In the spring of 2018, the singer Monetochka appeared on television. Viewers were able to see their idol in one of the issues of "Kamedi Club", as well as in a guest of Ivan Urgant.

In the fall of 2020, the singer's next album "Arts and Crafts" was released. Numerous fans of the performer were again pleased with her creative growth and new musical experiments.

In 2021 Elizabeth decided to try herself in the movie. The debut in this field was the role of a budding pop star Nastia, played by Monetochka in the movie "Native".

Personal life of the artist

The singer's personal life is developing no less successfully than her career. Monetochka is married. Her spouse Victor Isaev is 11 years older than Lisa.

Becoming married, the couple began to dream of their own big house. The singer even bought it in the Krasnodar region. But after Monetochka openly condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a public harassment of the performer began. She was included in the register of foreign agents. The singer and her husband were forced to move to Lithuania.

Despite all this, Monetochka did not want to delay the appearance of children in the family. In August 2022, the couple had a daughter. The girl was named Nina, the name of the baby girl parents publicized a month after her birth.

The country where Monetochka lives with her family today, the singer likes it very much. But she believes that her emigration is a temporary phenomenon. When the war is over, she will be able to return. In the meantime, the singer is busy raising her daughter and giving charity concerts, part of the proceeds of which she sends to support those affected by the war in Ukraine.
