Singer, actress, poetess, composer, TV and radio presenter... It's all her - Marina Khlebnikova, who became one of the brightest stars of Russian pop music of the 90s. Her "Cup of Coffee" and "Rains" are rightly considered symbols of the era and are happily sung at retro-style parties.

Childhood, school and college years

Marina Khlebnikova (Marina Hlebnikova) was born on November 6, 1965 in the town of Dolgoprudny near Moscow. Her parents were engineers-radiophysicists, a long period working for the defense industry. Despite the seriousness of the profession, they always found time to engage in music. Marina's father played guitar well, her mother - on the piano.

Wishing that the development of the child was comprehensive, Khlebnikovs paid a lot of attention to the upbringing of their daughter. Thanks to his father Marina in early childhood swam well, felt confident on skates and skis. At the age of 4.5 years the girl was given to the ballet studio, and later transferred to the music school. This and predetermined the entire future life of the future star.

In high school, the girl studied well, favored exact sciences and even thought of becoming a metallurgist. However, the love of art won.

While still studying, Khlebnikova played in the school theater. Later she organized an amateur ensemble "Marinad", becoming its soloist and ideological inspirer. The repertoire of the group consisted of songs of popular Western groups and performers.

After school, having finally decided to connect her life with music, Marina Khlebnikova entered the Gnesin College. She learned the basics of her future profession under the guidance of Lev Leshchenko, Joseph Kobzon, Alexander Gradsky. After the school there was the Gnessin Institute. At first Marina studied piano, then moved to the newly opened faculty of pop singing. Two diplomas of graduation from "Gnesinski" Khlebnikova received from the hands of Joseph Kobzon.

Star path of the performer

As a student, Marina met producer Bari Alibasov, who invited her as a soloist first in the group "Integral", and then in "Na-Na". Work with the groups became the beginning of Khlebnikova's creative biography. Thanks to this cooperation, the singer gained experience and knowledge that allowed her to engage in a solo career.

In 1991 Marina became a laureate of the contest "Yalta-91" with the song "Paradise in a shalash". This was followed by an equally bright performance in Austria. Her repertoire at that time already included such compositions as:

• "Rains";
• "Cocoa-Cocoa";
• "Accidental Love".

In 1993 Khlebnikova released her debut album "Stay" and several videos for the songs. After 3 years, the second disk of the singer was presented to the public. However, the real popularity came to Marina a little later, when all radio stations in the country heard her song "Cup of Coffee". With it she became a winner of the contest "Song of the Year", received her first "Golden Gramophone" and the award "Stopudovy Hit" from the radio "Hit FM". The album of the same name sold out with incredible speed and took the 4th place in sales in Russia.

The next few years were very fruitful for the singer. Her discography was regularly updated with new compositions and albums. Marina gave concerts, worked as a presenter on radio and TV, was a member of the group "HZ" and even starred in several episodic roles. In 2002 Khlebnikova was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Personal life

Details of her personal life, the singer never advertised. Khlebnikova's first husband was the bass guitarist of one of her bands, Anton Loginov. According to rumors, the marriage was fictitious. Organized it Bari Alibasov, allegedly wanting to keep the singer under his patronage. Be that as it may, but for Khlebnikova it mattered. According to the artist, it was Loginov, being an incredibly talented person, made her a pop star.

The couple lived together for about 10 years, they had no children in common.

The second spouse of the singer was a businessman, general director of a recording company Michael Maidanich. In 1999, the family had a daughter Dominika. The union did not last long, the child Khlebnikova had to raise alone. According to Marina, the daughter has little interest in the world of music, giving preference to the study of economics.

After the divorce Khlebnikova again began to closely communicate with Anton Loginov. The man suffered a stroke, and Marina decided that he should not be left alone. In 2018, Loginov committed suicide. It was Marina who first discovered the body.
