Childhood and teenage years
The future actor was born on December 27, 1939. The parents of the boy, Jews by nationality, were native Odessians. Emmanuel's father - an engineer, a major economist - worked in the flour milling industry. He was often transferred from one object to another, and the family had to constantly change the place of residence. At the time of the birth of his youngest son Vitorgany lived in Baku.
Emmanuel finished school in Astrakhan. In high school, he seriously became interested in theater. It happened thanks to his childhood friend Yuri Kochetkov, whose parents were actors. The young man did not miss a single new production of the Astrakhan theater, later began to study in the drama club, firmly determined to become an actor.
Having received a certificate, Emmanuel went to Moscow, but he was not accepted in any of the theater universities. Then he decided to try his luck in Leningrad and still managed to enter.
Creative career of 50 years
After graduating in 1961, Emmanuel got a job in the Pskov Drama Theater. There he worked for a short time. Two years later, the actor returned to Leningrad, loved during the years of study, began to play in the Theater of Drama and Comedy, later moved to work in "Lenkom". On these scaffolding, he performed for four years. Then he moved to Moscow and, after changing several troupes, came to serve in the Mayakovsky Theater. It is with this collective is associated with the bulk of the creative career of Emmanuel Gedeonovich. Here he worked for more than 20 years, adding to his record list a dozen wonderful roles.
Leaving "Mayakivka", the actor continued to play on the stage of the "Emmanuel Vitorgan Cultural Center". This is the actor's own project, to which he devotes most of his time. He himself leads the center, holds creative evenings and meetings, plays in his mono-performance "Exit".

Personal life
The actor again found happiness in marriage, although in his personal life there were many difficult moments.
The first time Emmanuel Vitorgan married, being a student. His chosen one was Tamara Rumyantseva, who studied with him at the same university. The marriage turned out to be short-lived. When their daughter Xenia was 5 years old, the spouses parted. The reason for the divorce was Vitorgan's acquaintance with the charming Alla Balter. The romance between them broke out instantly. The actor did not deceive his wife and offered her to part.
After the breakup, Tamara insisted that the husband left Leningrad, and Vitorgan and Balter went to the capital. For several years, the artists lived in a couple, then they had a son Maxim, and the young people decided to legalize their relationship.
Emmanuel Vitorgan was truly happy in this marriage. When Alla was diagnosed with cancer, it became for the actor the hardest blow.
