Viktor Shenderovich has been giving this lecture for many years at leading universities around the world.

However, this is not the usual academic lecture, but a funny and scary stand-up of the famous publicist and writer about the eternal confrontation between the free Russian word and the sullen autocracy of different epochs: from Peter the Great to the present day.
