Jewish variety show with trio "Khaïes" from Paris in Berlin 11 November 2025

In its short existence, the Hayes Ensemble has made a name for itself on the French cultural scene. The group has already toured successfully in Germany, Estonia and the USA.

"Khaïes" are musicians who are well versed in many genres: from classical and baroque to film music and vaudeville. Each member of the group brings to the Yiddish repertoire not only virtuosity and chamber music intimacy, not only the brilliance and humor of classical pop, but also all the baggage accumulated over the course of a long and varied musical career.

"Khaïes" is a multi-layered sound palette of Jewish opera, operetta, film music, pop and folk.

"Khaïes" is a multi-genre performance that combines music, song, dance, drama, stand-up comedy and elements of historical research on a captivating canvas.

The Yiddish word "Hayes" has many meanings: It means vitality, love of life, zest for existence and even natural vitality. This complexity perfectly reflects the spirit of the ensemble, which combines a wide range of genres to create lively shows. At the same time, Hayes stays true to the basic principles of Jewish theater by capturing the three Es in every note: Intimacy, Intensity and Improvisation.

This concert is a fascinating journey full of surprises into the world of Jewish, Slavic and French music.

The composition of the "Khaïes" ensemble:

• Elena Yakubsfeld (vocals) -Elena Yakubsfeld is a winner ofinternational competitions, a graduate of the State University of Variety and Circus Arts in Kiev and a pioneer of Jewish singing in the independent Ukraine. She has performed successfully in the USA, Canada, Israel, Germany, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania and France.
• Daria Ulantseva (piano) is a graduate of the legendary Gnessin Institute. She has performed with outstanding musicians and dancers of our time, including Vladimir Spivakov. Her playing on the piano, harpsichord and organ has enchanted audiences in the USA, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy and France.
• Alexander Mazin (viola) - has dedicated himself to music since his early childhood. A graduate of the Gnessin School and the Maastricht Conservatory, he is a multi-instrumentalist and winner of the Grand Prix at several international competitions. He performs all over the world both as a member of renowned orchestras and with his own chamber ensemble.
