His charming smile never left the posters and screens, and the song "Komarovo", which became an absolute hit, was heard everywhere. Igor Borisovich was offered more than once to seriously consider a pop career, but he preferred to be an actor. In his filmography there are more than 70 diverse works, but for many of his fans he remained that charming pianist Kostya from the movie "We are from Jazz", which won the hearts of millions of girls.
Childhood and youth
Igor Sklyar was born on December 18, 1957 in Kursk. The boy's parents were engineers. They brought up their children in strictness, so the future actor from an early age was accustomed to order. Igor studied well at school, attended circles, from childhood was engaged in sports. Another passion of the boy was music. With the help of teachers at the music school, Igor studied the basics of vocal and playing the violin and piano, he himself mastered the guitar. Being in his teens, the boy played and sang in an ensemble, seriously thinking about a career as a musician. Everything changed by chance.
During a trip to Moscow Sklyar fell on the eyes of the assistant director of the Gorky Film Studio Nadezhda Soroko. Gorky Nadezhda Sorokoumova, who invited the young man in the picture "Young of the Northern Fleet. Shooting changed not only the teenager's idea of cinematography, but also his whole life: he firmly decided to become an actor. Igor's parents did not consider their son's hobby serious, they wanted him to get a technical education. But the guy dreamed only of theater.
After receiving a certificate Sklyar went to conquer Moscow, but it was not easy to become a student of the capital's university. Igor was not accepted to any of the theater schools. Then he went to Leningrad and, having successfully passed the exams, entered the LGITMIK.
Career in theater and cinema
In 1979, Sklyar graduated and was sent to the Tomsk TYUZ. A year later he was drafted into the army. Demobilized, Igor returned to Leningrad and got a job in the city drama theater. On this stage, the actor served for 17 years. In 2000, Sklyar left the MDT, began to play as a guest actor on various stages of the city, to participate in interprisals. Since 2006 and to this day Igor Borisovich works at the theater "Baltic House".
Although Sklyar's theatrical career was quite successful, he became really famous thanks to the movies and his songs. First talked about him after the release of the comedy "Only in the music hall", where Igor played the role of a student-chemist Vanady, dreaming of becoming an artist.
The young actor was noticed, began to invite more often in various projects. One of the most memorable works of this period was the motion picture "Take care of women". However, the real glory to the artist came after filming in the movie Karen Shakhnazarov "We are from Jazz". Sklyar got the main role of jazz musician Kostya Ivanov, which was first planned to invite Dmitry Kharatyan.
Igor perfectly coped with the task. His work was awarded the festival "Youth Mosfilm" in the category "Actor's Debut" and finally cemented the actor's status as a Soviet sex symbol.
The movie for many years became Igor Sklyar's calling card, as well as the song "Komarovo", sounded in the movie "Start Again". The appearance of the actor in the status of pop singer made a real furor. In the late 80's, the artist was repeatedly offered to engage in a solo career, but he refused.
Over the next 10 years, the creative piggy bank of the actor was replenished with a number of bright works, including roles:
- Coloman Zuman in "Maritza";
- Bendetto in "The Prisoner of the Castle of If";
- Kostya Chebotarenko in "The feat of Odessa";
- Zhora Vitkovsky in "Battalions Ask for Fire".
By the early 90's artist bored to play the same type of heroes, he became very picky about the proposed roles. He wanted to demonstrate all the facets of his talent, but after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the domestic cinematography was experiencing bad times. The actor practically stopped filming.
The only bright project of this period is the movie "Year of the Dog". Sklyar played in it the role of a former criminal Sergei Kozhin, who fell in love with a young woman. The public and critics highly appreciated the appearance of the actor in a new role. For his work in the film Igor Sklyar was awarded "For Best Actor" at the festival "Kinotavr" in Sochi. The actor himself considers this project to be the peak of his creative biography.
Since the early 2000s Sklyar again began to act in movies. The period of deafening popularity of the artist has passed, but he still remains a highly sought-after actor. Among the most striking works of the celebrity - TV series and films "The Demise of Empire", "The Moscow Saga", "In Circle One", "Summer of the Wolves", "Children of Monday".
Recently, Sklyar gives a lot of time to the stage - entreprise performances and the theater-festival "Baltic House". In early 2020, this theater company presented the legendary Broadway musical "Fiddler on the Roof". The main role in it was played by Igor Sklyar. The production was a vivid proof that the actor does not forget about music. In his track record there are about 3 dozen songs, there is even one clip. During his creative meetings, he often takes the guitar in his hands and performs his favorite compositions.
Personal life
About the personal life of the actor there are many rumors and speculations. Partly the actor himself gives cause for gossip, often finding himself in the center of scandals.
Officially Sklyar is married, but evil tongues say that this is just a formality. His wife is the actress Natalia Akimova. The woman was married when she met Igor. Her first spouse was a close friend of Sklyar, the now deceased Andrei Krasko. All together they studied at the same course. Sklyar, who came from Kursk, did not have the means to rent an apartment himself, and Krasko offered him to live with him. After some time, Igor moved out of his friend with his wife.
Sklyar himself in interviews claims that his relationship with Natalia began after she broke up with Krasko. However, the diaries made public after Andrei's death prove otherwise. Krasko claims that Sklyar stole his wife from him. It was because of their betrayal that the actor experienced severe stress and went to a mental hospital.
The first ten years Sklyar and Akimova lived in a civil marriage. They got married, only expecting the birth of a child.
Vasily Sklyar did not follow in the footsteps of his parents. First he studied philosophy at the university, later moved to the theater institute. However, the actor from him did not turn out. At the age of 24, the guy went into the clergy, and his father had to come to terms with the choice of his son.
Igor Sklyar himself continues to work actively. After suffering a heart attack, he became more serious about his health. The actor does not drink alcohol, tries to smoke less and eat right.
