Where do pseudonyms come from, what flight of fancy accompanies a creative person, when there is an understanding that a certain set of letters will one hundred percent reflect the emotional and semantic image that would like to present to the audience? In the case of singer Yolka, the secret of her stage name is in her childhood. There are answers to almost all questions there, telling more about a person than hundreds of candid interviews of an adult celebrity. Looking at a beautiful attentive schoolgirl with a soft smile, marveling at the emphatically provocative images of her youth and admiring the success of the popular singer, one wants to ask: why exactly so? How did Lisa Ivantsiv become Yolka, why does her private life, despite her stellar popularity, remains closed from prying eyes?
This is how one becomes a star
The life history and creative biography of the future star of the Ukrainian and Russian variety began in Uzhgorod (Western Ukraine). Year of birth Elizaveta Ivantsiv (1982) falls on the period when most Soviet citizens were sure that the "bright future" has already come. The gifted girl's childhood and teenage search coincide with the Perestroika era, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the opening of borders, through which Western culture poured uncontrolled into the post-Soviet space.
A compassionate girl with a prickly character
Young Liza tries to be in the trend: she adheres to avant-garde style, has piercings, tattoos and a nude haircut. There are two versions of why she was called Yeolka:
- The abundance of "tzatziki" caused associations with the New Year's symbol.
- Complex, uncooperative character generated barbs, which Elizaveta ochetinivayutsya, it was worth it to hurt her.
Since eleven years Lisa Ivantsiv almost everyone, even her mother, called Yolka. The real name sounded at official communication at school and in the music school. The future celebrity grew up in a musical family, where everyone was fond of music:
- father - an avid music lover, collecting jazz records;
- her mother was an accomplished musician on several instruments;
- grandmother and grandfather loved folk choral singing.
As a schoolgirl Elizaveta attended a vocal group at the Uzhgorod Palace of Pioneers, and at a very tender age, being a vocal child, she sang in a children's choir.
Lisa did not finish music school. She herself left, having studied for a year and a half at the vocal department, because of the "prickly character", which once again emphasized the defiant, avant-garde appearance, Yeolka did not find common ground with teachers. She decided not to wait until she was "asked", and left the school on her own.
Creative search
The girl was at an age when many actions are made impulsively, and in the ideas and judgments expressed, youthful maximalism prevails. Mature, wiser Elizaveta Ivantsiv, most likely, regrets the moment when she changed her academic studies for the role of backing vocalist in a youth group performing songs in rap-R'n'B style.
Adult Yolka, who has passed a long creative path, under the bright rays of fame has not stiffened her soul. She participates in television projects with gifted children, but she does it not for the sake of self-piarism, but with an important goal - to help. To make those children, who with hope, joy and great faith stare their eyes into the future, get a real chance to realize their dreams. Lisa knows the feeling when you don't want to dream anymore, because it seems that only hopelessness lies ahead.
After a trip to Moscow for a rap music festival (2001), where her first collective B & B took the prize, there is a lull in the creative life of Yolka. For three years Lisa forgot about her dream of becoming a famous singer. She leaves the rap group and works as a waitress. When she was contacted by Vlad Valov, a famous rapper and producer, Elizaveta first thought it was someone's evil prank. After seeing the ticket sent in her name, she made another attempt to conquer Moscow. This time she was successful.
Change of direction
After performing the song "Bitch Love" at a concert event honoring Micah's memory and performing at the Megahouse rock festival, Yolka signs a contract with SheFF, Vlad Valov's production company. She refuses to use her real name as a stage brand, and also asks to be spared from interviews about her personal life. When asked about her nationality, husband, children, Elizaveta Ivantsiv answers that she "lives with a cat" and is not interested in politics. It is known that Yolka's husband's name is Sergei Astakhov. Until 2016, he worked as an administrator of the singer, but was fired. The reasons were not voiced.
In 2005, the first solo album "City of Deception" was presented to the general public, where most of the text and musical material was composed by Vlad Valov. Critics met the diverse playlist (from rap to soul) with restrained approval. Yolka's second CD entitled "Shadows" in content and style turned out to be a continuation of the previous attempt to find her audience. Famous personalities of the Russian show business took a cool attitude to this album.
The right conclusions were made, and already "This Magnificent World" is collected from positive associations, light images and stylish social irony. The song "Boy Handsome" is an undoubted hit that made Yolka truly famous. Fate, returning dreams in the form of real events, prepared Lisa a significant surprise - meeting Alla Pugacheva and a long communication with her in the radio air. The subsequent change of creative priorities was caused by the conversation with the diva.
After a memorable conversation Elizabeth Ivantsiv completely changes not only the stage image, but also the approach to the choice of musical content. She is no longer afraid to be traditional, "pop", she even believes that it is good, quality pop that is truly academic and therefore comfortable. Almost all the songs of mature Yolka are made in the format of pop music, although they differ from the material of other performers recognizable originality (a typical example - "Provence").
Stellar maturity
Liza breaks up with Vlad Valov and starts cooperation with Meladze brothers. After 2009 there is a complete rejection of avant-garde, demonstrative style in favor of elegance and inner content. The catalog of artists on kontramarka.de presents a mature, professional singer. From 2011 to 2015, CDs are released that make Yolka a national star. These include the following full albums:
